Autonomous Tactical Utility Reconnaissance Target Leveler using Computer Vision: MXET 300 Team ‘TURTL’ (2020)

This video shows the entire process of designing and implementing the various components necessary for creating an autonomous tank robot. The Tactical Utility Reconnaissance Target Leveler(TURTL) utilizes computer vision to identify red targets based on HSV values and continues to rotate right until one is found. It then approaches them until a set distance is reached, knowing when to stop with a LIDAR sensor. The attached turret proceeds to fire a ping pong ball until the identified target is knocked over. A pair of WS2811 addressable LED strips was adhered to the bottom of the TURTL to indicate it’s status.
